The JEasleys are headed back to Morocco
8 years after moving to the US, we are starting a new journey overseas.
Our history in Morocco goes back to 1982 when Joey was born in Fes. After a period of 10 years in the north of Morocco, during which four of our five kids were born in four countries on three continents, our family moved home to the US. Eight years later we are uprooting and heading back. This time we will be in a new area to us - the Marrakesh region.
In September of 2023 there was an earthquake that shook the High Atlas mountain region south of Marrakesh. The earthquake affected over 300,000 people and claimed the lives of almost 3,000. With our experience doing relief work among the Rif Berbers (Amazigh), we felt the pull back to help one of the other major Berber groups in Morocco - the Ishelhayn.
We are sad to be leaving our family and friends that have become dear to us in the Pacific Northwest , but also excited about the opportunity to bring blessings to the Ishelhayn.
